The article "Friends With Benefits: Do Facebook Friends Provide the Same Support as Those in Real Life?" by Kate Dailey. Published by Newsweek June 15,2009.
This article is about the author explaining the difference between being friends with people on Facebook and being friends with somebody in person and talking to them face-to-face. In the article, the author mentions that Facebook might be the perfect venue for tragic news. What she means by this, is that when somebody you may not know very well posts something tragic such as a death in the family or a family dog dying, people will feel the need to post sympathetic things to the person on their status and that is the only way you would know about it, is when they post it. The author also mentions that when you have 700 or more friends on Facebook, your less likely to actually talk to every "friend" you added to your friends list. According to the article Facebook doesn't make anybody a better friend, it just makes them more of an acquaintance because there just another person who knows your business when maybe you really didn't want them too because you don't know them very well. According to Rebecca G. Adams who is a professor at the University of North Carolina, in real life, friendships don't have to be equal or close and we know from research that friendships aren't as voluntary as they seem.
I can see why the author said what she said because I've noticed the things she mentioned in her article. I have over 685 Facebook friends, some of them being people I had classes with in high school and some that I played sports with over the years and they just linger on my friends list as people to have. I guess I am part of those people who post whatever I want on my statuses and enjoy the amount of "likes" on a certain post because it's the attention people are bringing to the one status they saw on there news feed Over all, I do agree with the author that Facebook doesn't always make people better friends but more acquaintances than we were before when we were just two people passing each other in the school hallways.

The article "Breaking: At least 2 dead,100 reported injured in Boston Marathon explosions" by unknown author on MSN.com. http://news.msn.com/us/explosion-reported-near-boston-marathon
This article is about the Boston Bomb Attack that happened on Monday April 15th 2013. According to the article, one of the 2 people reported dead is an 8 year old but the other 100 are seriously injured. The White House and the FBI are claiming this to be a terrorist attack. Also, there was a fire attack at the John F. Kennedy library a few miles away. Because of this, all cell phone services have been shut down to prevent any potential explosives from a cell phone. As people were cheering on the runners, just a little over four hours, the explosive happened. Not only some of the runners were injured, but a lady was carried by the Ambulance with a bloody leg gushing out blood into the Medical Tent to get taken care of.
Personally, I am getting kind of annoyed about bad things always happening to people who are just minding their own business. This kind of attack shouldn't have happened especially because there were a lot of families attending the event. Now kids, who are very young, will probably feel traumatized for a very long time because of this event. I would think that after 9/11 happened in 2001, people would learn from that and not attack another city or country again. This is sickening to know that someone would have this much courage to kill other people they don't know.

The Article "Powerball winner to pay neighbors' rents" by Jonathan Berr published by MSN http://t.money.msn.com/now/powerball-winner-to-pay-neighbors-rents is about a guy named Pedro Quezada who won the lottery in New Jersey. Before he became a multi-millionaire, he had to pay off 29,000 in child support and had an outstanding arrest warrant. As soon as he won the lottery, he decided to pay his neighbors' who lived on his streets house mortgage and rent bills since he could afford it. He won $338,000,000,000 in the Powerball. Since his winnings, he has decided to put his retail store up for sale and according to the article his future plans are unsure of what he is going to do with the rest of the money.
I think this article is really interesting to read about. Not only because it's fascinating to see someone reach out to others around them and not be selfish with the money, but to also see that someone who was struggling with money once before, won the Powerball out of pure luck. I think it's very interesting how someone can win that much money when there are billions of people in this world who are trying to win the same thing. I think it's really cool what he did for others in his neighborhood.
